Do I need to pay a deposit when I make a booking?

No a deposit is not required at time of booking.

Do I need to pay for my booking before I arrive?

The full balance of your booking will be taken on arrival. 

How do I cancel my booking?

The booking confirmation email that you will receive on completing your booking will contain full details on how to cancel your booking online.  The cancellation is free of charge 72 hours prior to the date of arrival, after this time we will charge you for the first night of your booking.   

Are utilities included in the price?

Yes. Utilities are included in the rates advertised.

What does utilities include?

These include energy costs, waste costs, secure car parking and WiFi.

Is a security deposit required on arrival?

For groups over 10 people a security deposit of €25 per person is required on check-in and will be returned within 48 hours after departure, subject to no damages caused to the property.

When and where can I check-in?

Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival and guests should check-in at the main reception of the building they have booked.

What time is check-in?

3pm.

What time is check-out?

10am.

Are cots available?

Travel Cots are available on request. Please note your request in the Special Requests section at the time of your booking.

How often will the apartment be serviced during my stay?

Your apartment will be cleaned once on a weekly stay with fresh linen and fresh towels. 

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are are welcomed in Castlewhite when flagged with us at the time of booking to ensure they are allocated to an appropriate apartment. Unfortunately pets are not permitted at our other properties. Service animals are welcomed at all of our complexes.

Are the kitchens fully equipped?

Yes. We provide the following inventory in each apartment:

• Knifes & Spoons & Forks
• Plates, Bowls, Saucepans & Frying Pan
• Casserole Dish & Chopping Board
• Washing-Up Liquid
• Bottle Opener

• Soap, Miniature Shampoo & Shower Gel
• Complimentary Tea/Coffee pack on arrival

Are there laundry facilities?

Yes. Laundry facilities are available across our complexes for your convenience. Our laundry system is operated by AppWash, a self-service, app-based platform designed to make your laundry experience simple and efficient or via tokens that can be purpchased at Reception, depending on your complex. Detergent is not supplied however, it can be purchased in a local convenience store.

Is the complex secure?

Yes. The complex is very secure. Only guests with key card access have access to the buildings and we have 24/7 security also.

What kind of heating is in the apartments?

Electrical heating.

Is there WiFi available?

Yes. There is FREE WiFi throughout the complex for guests. Guests will be given the password on check-in.

Can I smoke in the apartment?

No. All apartments are non-smoking.

Are there hairdryers?

Limited number available at reception upon request. No charge applies.

Are there towels and linen provided?

Bed linen is provided and each guest will receive 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. These are replaced weekly.

Is there parking available?

Yes, on-site parking is available free of charge for resident guests. Crow's Nest does not have on-site parking but guests are welcome to park at our sister complexes which are right next to the property. 

Distance from Cork Airport?

Cork Airport is located approximately 9 km from UCC Campus Accommodation. A taxi journey from Cork Airport takes about 20-minutes, depending on the time of travel.

Is the accommodation on a bus route into Cork City?

There are a number of bus routes 208, 220 (located outside each of our locations) that connect guests to the city centre.

How far is Cork City Centre?

Cork City Centre is approximately a 25-minute walk from Victoria Lodge, Victoria Mills and University Hall. It is a 15 minute walk from Castlewhite. There are a number of bus routes 208, 220 (located outside each of our locations) that connect guests to the city centre. 

What are your Health & Safety Standards?

The wellbeing of our guests and staff is of parramount importance.  

While we constantly maintain a high standard of hygiene at UCC Summer Beds, we have implemented additional measures to ensure the highest level of protection in line with the health and safety guidelines as set out by Failte Ireland, The Health Service Executive and The Irish Self Catering Federation.
